Stop the Opidemic

Endeavoring to end Utah’s prescription opioid addiction.

With overdoses at an all-time high, the Utah Department of Health took a bold stand against opioid misuse. Together we educated people on the risks of overdose and addiction by helping the public understand the similarities of prescription opioids and heroin.

Along with carpeting the state with TV, online ads and billboards, we built a website to educate people on the dangers of prescription opioids and connect them with treatment and support. We interviewed survivors who told their stories of addiction, loss and hope. We also helped show the value of Naloxone to reverse the affects of an overdose.

Let's talk about it.

We didn’t stop there. We supported the Department of Health sponsor legislation that required warning labels on prescription opioids. We also designed materials to help train and educate doctors, patients and providers.

And the campaign got noticed! The issue was highlighted on multiple news programs, talk shows, newpapers and online. But most important of all, it helped dramatically reduce overdoses and prescription opioid abuse.
